This is getting longer then expected so I going to warp it up. I have other adventures to share.

Airline travel normally is pretty boring as was this, You go though TSA my wife and I both have TSA pre-check well worth the money and they have an international version if you travel overseas although we have never had a problem with just the TSA precheck boarding overseas has never been a hassle. (See travel tip for advantages to TSA precheck) anyway after that you head for your gate wait to board get on the plane and kill time for the duration of your flight then if you have a lay over find your gate and on to the next leg of your trip this was a approx.. a twelve our flight to Paris and a layover then another one hour to Athens. With the hope that our luggage would arrive with us. I had called the cruise line and made arrange to board Monday what ever time we got there. (Getting around in European airports is fairly easy everything is in at least the native language and English sometimes several others.
We arrived in Athens on Monday (Happy Anniversary the Love of my Life) We hoped that are luggage would be here and we could get on with are travels, I would mention during this process we had learn are bags had went to JFK but where told they would be forwarded to Athens but had not received the new tag numbers. So we got off the plane and headed for baggage claim and hoped maybe our bags would pop out on the carousel they did not on to lost luggage.

This picture represents only part of the lost luggage in Athens. After browsing though the luggage we could we got in line to file a claim after reaching the front of the Delta claim line we where told it was the wrong line we needed to get in the Air France line because in Paris we boarded an Air France flight. The line was several hours long we decided to Uber to the ship and return in the morning the ship didn’t leave to Tuesday evening . It was late and I was getting as cranky as the people working at the airport.

This was not our cruise ship but the first one we saw enter the cruise port at about 10:00PM it has been a long todays. The Uber driver was great and the people at Viking where out waiting for us it was a very friendly welcome.
Breakfast on the ship and back to the airport since our baggage claim was where we would have to go though custom’s it took a little to get permission to get to the right area and then to get in the proper line. The lines where a lot shorter. We found an employee who actually went looking for our bags and he found two in another area of the airport. My two much to wife dismay they would not let her go look for the other two. So we filled out forms and returned to the ship for our cruise which is another story.

In conclusion what supposed to be an over not flight with two days in Athens Greece then onto a Mediterranean Cruise turned into a four day trip to Athens follow by a cruise.
Rhonda did get her luggage back a week after we got back from the cruise, One piece was in Athens the whole time. Well the other once it got to Athens was quite well traveled for awhile trying to catch the cruise ship. Thanks to a dedicated employee in a small airport in Croatia it did make it home. Here is it’s journey. It started at MBS in Freeland MI to DTW Detroit, to JFK New York, Athens’s Greece, to DBV Dubrovnik Croatia, AMS Amsterdam, back to DTW and finally to MBS quite the trip.
